Ultrasound Imaging
At Lighthouse Pet Clinic, we are proud to offer ultrasound imaging. Unlike ionizing radiation that is used in traditional x-ray imaging, ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to observe your pet’s organs and internal structures. It is non-invasive, and safe to perform frequently.
Additionally, ultrasound is excellent for soft tissue evaluation and early disease detection, and it provides real-time, dynamic imaging that is often less costly than more advanced imaging.
Preparation for Ultrasound Imaging
Preparation for ultrasound imaging is minimal. Your pet may require light sedation to keep them still during the procedure, and they will need to be shaved where the exam is to take place. In general, preparation is quick and easy.
